1) Psalm 51 is composed after the prophet Nathan confronted king David about his adultery with Bathsheba. The psalms is David's plea for God's mercy and forgiveness after David acknowledges his sins, wanting a purer heart and a more willing spirit to God. This psalm emphasises the importance of acknowledging one's sin and willingness to repent.

2) Psalm 130 is a cry for help from a place of despair. The psalmist calls out to God from the depths, acknowledging human sinfulness and the need for divine mercy. It is a plea for forgiveness and a declaration of hope in God's steadfast love and redemption. This psalm shows that we must be faithful in Gods timing in forgiving us and trust in his unfailing love.

3) Psalm 38 describe one's suffering and guilt due to the sins committed. Despite his suffering, he turns to God in prayer, confessing his sins and seeking relief and healing. This psalm shows the consequences of one's sin and the importance of turning to prayer to seek relief and healing.

4) Psalm 32 is a psalm of thanksgiving, celebrating one's forgiveness of sins after repenting. It contrasts the torment of unconfessed sin with the peace and happiness of being forgiven. The psalm encourages others to seek God's forgiveness and trust in His unfailing love. This psalm ultimately shows that the Lord is faithful to us and will forgive us in his perfect timing if we are willing to repent with an open heart and call out to him with all our strength. It emphasises God's love for us.
